Desert Dames Mesquite, Nevada

We are a social club that promotes friendship.

We are a non-profit organization registered in the State of Nevada. We have been in existence since 1995 and exist for the sole benefit of its members. We will not become involved in, or take any position on political or religious issues.

Membership is open to residents 21 years of age and older in the city of Mesquite, Nevada and surrounding communities.

Dues include a Desert Dames name badge, an emailed monthly newsletter and eligibility to participate in Special Interest Groups. Renewals are due January 1 each year.

Who can join the Desert Dames of Mesquite, NV?

Membership is offered to people residing in Mesquite, NV and surrounding communities of Bunkerville, and Beaver Dam, Desert Springs and Scenic, AZ who seek to make new friends. Desert Dames is a social club in existence since 1995, which exists for the sole benefit of its members. Luncheon meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month. Paid reservations are required to attend the luncheon. (This Club will not become involved in, or take any position on political or religious issues.)

What do I do if I don’t receive my monthly newsletter?

Contact the Editor by email: desertdameseditor@gmail.com. You have the option of receiving your newsletter by mail or email. There is no charge to receive the newsletter by email. If you prefer to have the newsletter sent through the US Post Office, there is a $20 additional annual fee. (and you may opt for both).

What do my Membership dues cover?

Desert Dames is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization and membership dues cover our operating costs. The major items your membership dues cover include social media, monthly newsletter, and other operations which may arise. The dues also cover the entertainment at our luncheons. All Board Members and Activity Chairs/Co-Chairs are volunteers and do not receive remuneration for their work.

How do you go about making friends?

Be active! Go to our monthly luncheons which have informative programs and activities. Attend different special interest group events. Offer to volunteer at a luncheon or with the Board. Contact an Activity/Social Chair for ideas.

How long does my Membership last?

Your membership is set up on a calendar year January 1 to December 31. You can renew your membership by mail or hand deliver to the Membership Chairperson. For those joining in the last quarter of the year, your membership carries over into the next year without extra dues.

What if you don’t have the activity group I’m interested in?

Contact the Activities Chairperson and ask about starting a new group! All our groups are organized and led by our members.

Can non-members attend events?

According to our Bylaws and Policies and Procedures, a non-member can attend any luncheon as a guest of a member. A non-member can attend only two activity group events during the year, and must be accompanied by a member. The exception is our Annual Fashion Show Luncheon in November— it is open to the public and a great way to get to learn more about our Club.

How can I learn more about Desert Dames?

Attend a luncheon, or join one of the activity groups to become involved. The Desert Dames hosts a new member gathering where new members meet the Board of Directors and have an opportunity to interact one-on-one with board members and other new members. You can also contact the Membership Chairperson with any questions you may have.
